Education
What happened to our educational system? At the end of the 1800's, we had the most literate population in world, according to many sources, and our government spent almost nothing on education at the time. Now our American literacy level is on a par with many third world countries and declining fast, and yet our government spends billions on education every year. Something is wrong with this picture. What do you think it is? To better understand what happened and why, read the book "The Leipzig Connection" by Paolo Lionni (see Amazon.com). Meanwhile, some of the book can be found on the internet at http://www.sntp.net/education/leipzig_connection.htm Another good reference regarding understanding what happened to our educational system is the article by award winning New York teacher, John Taylor Gatto, titled "Bootie Zimmer's Choice". That can be found at http://www.isil.org/resources/libertydocs/bootie-zimmers-choice.html. Another good reference is the book "Inside American Education" by Thomas Sowell. And yet another really good one is the interview of Norman Dodd by Ed Griffin at http://www.supremelaw.org/authors/dodd/interview.htm And yet another reference that will reveal a bit more about the people and institutions behind the destruction of our educational system, is a tape titled "The Politics of Cancer Therapy", based on the second half of the book "World Without Cancer" by G. Edward Griffin. It can also be found at Amazon.com, used, for under $2. After reading all the above, one will find that certain moneyed interests didn't want an educated populace, who could compete with them or endanger their monpolistic money making schemes. So they used their power and influence to create an educational system which would produce graduates who thought they were educated, but who couldn't think or reason well, and who didn't have the broad understanding of many vital subjects like history, banking, economics and the historical results of political choices, etc., and thus could be easily fooled into making unwise choices, and who would follow directions without question. In other words, they wanted robots who would not trouble their leaders and who would just follow the directions of those in power without question. And that's more or less what our schools now produce...unthinking robots. |
